Sue was born in York and has lived in Acomb for most of her life, currently on Green Lane with her partner Nigel. Sue runs the local florist Floral Elegance and has done for the last 14 years.

Sue jointly formed Acomb Alive Traders Association with the aim to assist local business to promote and encourage the local community and surrounding areas to shop locally.

Simon was elected as a councillor for Westfield ward in May 2019.

Simon has had a working life that covered food manufacturing, banking and local government – with over 25 years working as an economic development officer with City of York Council.

He has a wide range of experience gained in his professional life, from advising business start-ups, through skills development for individuals and businesses to working with peripheral areas in the city, including Front Street, to develop collaboration and build a sense of community.

Simon also has over 15 years voluntary work with young people for The Prince’s Trust as a business mentor, as well as 10 years voluntary work helping young people with the city’s Youth Offending Team.

Cllr Andrew Waller ()

Andrew was first elected as a councillor for Westfield in 1994, and was leader of the Council 2008-2011.

He was re-elected to the Council in October 2014 when he won a by election with a majority of over 1200 votes. He lives on Askham Lane, and is Treasurer of Chapelfields Community Association (which runs Sanderson House Community Centre), School Governor at Westfield Primary and York High Schools. He jointly set up the Acomb Traders Association, Acomb Alive! promoting business in the Front Street shopping area. He has campaigned on local services, including protecting community centres.
